There also seems to be much more full frontal male nudity in the UK version than there is in the US series. A lot of the romantic relationships between the characters play out differently between the two versions.
In the UK version, Ian ends up marrying a woman after his affair with Mickey ends, while in the US version his storyline concludes with a reunion with Mickey in prison. Additionally, in the UK version, Lip has a child. In the US series, Monica dies in season seven with just six children behind. After that, Frank goes through a slew of new romantic interests, all of which seem to die or leave. One of the biggest differences if you watch both of the shows in their entirety is that the focus on the Gallagher family is different.
In the UK version, much of the main cast leaves eventually. We all know how that scenario worked out for her in the US version. A lot of the other main Gallagher characters have left for entire seasons in the UK version. Frank is really the only one who stays the entire run. By the end of the UK series, it seems as though the entire focus has shifted away from the Gallaghers and onto their neighboring families.
However, she becomes pregnant with his child and begins living with him. Eventually, she ends up in a three-way relationship with Kev and Vee, and at one point tries to take control over the bar. Svetlana had a significant impact on the show and was present for five seasons, so she really provided a different plot twist than the UK version.
However, there are more differences in the signature Shameless watering holes than simply just the names. The US one however kept getting better after season 3. One major difference is that in the US one all the Gallaghers stuck around.
So they remained a central family and the show didn't need to rely on side characters. Whereas in series 5 of the UK one it was pretty much McGuire's and other misfits chipping in. I do always wonder what would have happened if the actors and actresses of the UK stuck around. There was so much potential there.
Which do you prefer? Bluelipstick VIP Member. I love both. The uk one is hilarious and the the us one is awesome.
Fancyfeathers Well-known member. Uk without a doubt. Blossom Active member. Us by far. Moolo Well-known member. One of the biggest pluses of the US version is William H. The Frank of the UK version, David Threlfall, does his job well, of course, but our brother William takes things to a whole new level, which is a fact. However, the UK version is not without its pluses.
For example, in the first season, Steve, James McAvoy , who is one of the most talented actors of our time. In addition, as a general opinion by many internet commentators, the cast of the British version was chosen more sincere, sympathetic and suitable for the characters. Kevin and Veronica exists in both versions, but they leave the series in season 4 of the UK version and the Maguire family begins to take center stage.
The Milkovich family in the US version, on the other hand, does not have the same effect, except for the relationship of Ian and Micky. In the UK version, the Maguire family even outstrips the Gallagher family. Shameless is available in both the UK and the US with elements such as nudity, bad habits and profanity is known. However, the UK version has a more mature, realistic and dramatic feel, as you know that the US version also has a lot of comedy elements. It appears in two different versions of in different forms.
In the US version, however, Ian ends his relationship with Mickey after his prison adventure and does not marry anyone. One of the biggest differences between the two versions is, To the Gallagher family is the approach. In the UK version, the main characters of the family leave the series.
In fact, we can say that only Frank remains in the family.
